The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WAS THERE NOT a time in the life of man when he was not even a mentionable thing? (1) Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing. (2) Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord). (3) Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. (4) the righteous shall drink from a cup mixed with the coolness of kafur, (5) a source [of bliss] whereof God's servants shall drink, seeing it flow in a flow abundant. (6) they who keep their vows and fear a Day whose evil is spread; (7) And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, (8) (Saying),"We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. (9) Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." (10) Therefore Allah will guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness; (11) and their reward for being patient will be a Garden and silk [clothing]. (12) [They will be] reclining therein on adorned couches. They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold. (13) since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach. (14) and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver, and goblets of crystal, (15) Glass made from silver, which the servers have filled up to the measure. (16) And therein they shall be given to drink a cup whose mixture is ginger, (17) drawn from a spring (in Paradise) called Salsabil. (18) ۞ And there shall go round unto them youths ever-young. When thou seest them thou wouldst deem them pearls unstrung. (19) Whitherto you look around, you will see an abundance of bliss and the glories of a great kingdom. (20) Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. (21) "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." (22)
