The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Surely there hath come upon man a space of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning. (1) Verily, it is We who have created man out of a drop of sperm intermingled, so that We might try him [in his later life]: and therefore We made him a being endowed with hearing and sight. (2) Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. (3) For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. (4) But the righteous shall drink of a goblet mixed with camphor; (5) A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. (6) They keep their vows and fear a day the woe of which will spread far and wide; (7) And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, (8) We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks: (9) behold, we stand in awe of our Sustainer's judgment on a distressful, fateful Day!" (10) So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. (11) and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; (12) Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. (13) And its shade will cover them, and its fruit clusters brought down low for them. (14) Rounds of silver cups and silver beakers, looking like glass, will be presented upon them. (15) Glass made from silver, which the servers have filled up to the measure. (16) And in Paradise they will be given to drink cups, filled with a mixture of ginger. (17) from a flowing spring called Salsabil. (18) ۞ And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls. (19) If you were to see it, you would find it to be a great kingdom with great bounty. (20) They will have fine green silk and brocade, and they will be decked with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will provide them with a drink of pure wine. (21) Behold, this is your recompense and your endeavour has been appreciated. (22)
