The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? (1) Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. (2) Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. (3) Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire. (4) The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor (5) a source [of bliss] whereof God's servants shall drink, seeing it flow in a flow abundant. (6) Those who fulfil their vows and fear the Day whose evil shall be diffused far and wide, (7) And they feed with food, for love of Him, the needy, and the orphan and the captive. (8) We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks: (9) "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." (10) God will certainly rescue them from the terror of that day and will meet them with joy and pleasure. (11) For their patience, He will reward them with Paradise and silk. (12) [They will be] reclining therein on adorned couches. They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold. (13) since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach. (14) and passed around them shall be silver vessels, and crystal goblets, (15) crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. (16) And in that [paradise] they will be given to drink of a cup flavoured with ginger, (17) therein a fountain whose name is called Salsabil. (18) ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, (19) When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. (20) they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. (21) This is your reward. Your endeavour is fully acknowledged. (22)
