The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned? (1) Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight. (2) Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving. (3) [Now,] behold, for those who deny the truth, We have prepared chains, iron collars and a blazing fire, but (4) Lo! the righteous shall drink of a cup whereof the mixture is of Kafur, (5) which flows from a spring from which the servants of God will drink. (6) These will be the ones who fulfil their vows and dread the Day whose woe shall be spread far and wide; (7) And they give food, inspite of their love for it (or for the love of Him), to Miskin (poor), the orphan, and the captive, (8) (saying): “We feed you only for Allah's sake; we do not seek of you any recompense or thanks, (9) We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." (10) God will certainly rescue them from the terror of that day and will meet them with joy and pleasure. (11) and will reward them for all their patience in adversity with a garden [of bliss] and with [garments of] silk. (12) They will recline therein on couches and they will find neither excessive heat nor cold. (13) The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; (14) Rounds of silver cups and silver beakers, looking like glass, will be presented upon them. (15) And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. (16) There will they drink a cup flavoured with ginger (17) From a fountain therein, named Salsabil. (18) ۞ And immortal youths will wait upon them: when thou seest them, thou wouldst deem them to be scattered pearls; (19) And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent. (20) Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and of brocades. And adorned they shall be with bracelets of silver: and their Lord shall give them drink a beverage pure. (21) (And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. (22)
