The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. (1) Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. (2) Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. (3) Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains, fetters, and a Blaze. (4) The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor (5) A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. (6) They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. (7) And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, (8) (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; (9) behold, we stand in awe of our Sustainer's judgment on a distressful, fateful Day!" (10) And so, God will preserve them from the woes of that Day, and will bestow on them brightness and joy, (11) and will reward them for their steadfastness with Paradise and robes of silk. (12) Where they will recline on couches feeling neither heat of the sun nor intense cold. (13) The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; (14) Rounds of silver cups and silver beakers, looking like glass, will be presented upon them. (15) Also there will be crystal clear goblets of silver containing the exact measure of drink which they desire. (16) There will they drink a cup flavoured with ginger (17) (Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil. (18) ۞ There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls. (19) And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. (20) Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. (21) Behold, this is your recompense and your endeavour has been appreciated. (22)
