The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WAS THERE NOT a time in the life of man when he was not even a mentionable thing? (1) Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. (2) Surely We guided him upon the way whether he be thankful or unthankful. (3) Indeed, for the unbelievers We have prepared chains, fetters and a Blazing (Fire). (4) Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, (5) From a spring of which the votaries of God will drink and make it flow in abundance. (6) They keep their vows and fear a day the woe of which will spread far and wide; (7) And feed the needy for the love of Him, and the orphans and the captives, (8) 'We feed you only for the Face of God; we desire no recompense from you, no thankfulness; (9) We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." (10) God will certainly rescue them from the terror of that day and will meet them with joy and pleasure. (11) and will reward them for all their patience in adversity with a garden [of bliss] and with [garments of] silk. (12) therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; (13) The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. (14) Goblets of silver are brought round for them, and beakers (as) of glass (15) Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. (16) And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger (17) from a fountain called Salsabila. (18) ۞ And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed. (19) And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. (20) On their bodies will be garments of the finest green silk and brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give them a purest draught to drink. (21) [And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated." (22)
