The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HAS THERE [not] been an endless span of time before man [appeared - a time] when he was not yet a thing to be thought of? (1) Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. (2) Verily We! We shewed him the way; then he becometh either thankful or ingrate. (3) Indeed, for the unbelievers We have prepared chains, fetters and a Blazing (Fire). (4) Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms (5) a fountain whereat drink the servants of God, making it to gush forth plenteously. (6) they who keep their vows and fear a Day whose evil is spread; (7) And they give food out of love for Him to the poor and the orphan and the captive: (8) saying, "We feed you for the sake of God alone, we seek neither recompense nor thanks from you. (9) We are afraid of our Lord and the bitterly distressful day". (10) So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, (11) and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; (12) therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; (13) since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach. (14) and passed around them shall be silver vessels, and crystal goblets, (15) goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. (16) And in Paradise they will be given to drink cups, filled with a mixture of ginger. (17) therein a fountain whose name is called Salsabil. (18) ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, (19) When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. (20) they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. (21) This is your reward. Your endeavour is fully acknowledged. (22)
