31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WAS THERE NOT a time in the life of man when he was not even a mentionable thing? (1) Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. (2) We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. (3) For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. (4) Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms (5) A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah drink, making it gush forth abundantly, (6) They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. (7) And feed the needy for the love of Him, and the orphans and the captives, (8) Saying: we feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any recompense or thanks. (9) We are afraid of our Lord and the bitterly distressful day". (10) Therefor Allah hath warded off from them the evil of that day, and hath made them find brightness and joy; (11) For their patience, He will reward them with Paradise and silk. (12) They will recline therein on couches and they will find neither excessive heat nor cold. (13) the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. (14) And they will be waited upon with vessels of silver and goblets that will [seem to] be crystal (15) crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. (16) And they shall be given to drink from a cup whose mixture is ginger, (17) [derived from] a source [to be found] therein, whose name is "Seek Thy Way". (18) ۞ Immortal youths will go about them, when you see them, you would suppose them to be scattered pearls. (19) And when thou lookest them thou shalt behold delight and a dominion magnificent. (20) They will have fine green silk and brocade, and they will be decked with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will provide them with a drink of pure wine. (21) This is your reward. Your endeavour is fully acknowledged. (22)
