31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WAS THERE NOT a time in the life of man when he was not even a mentionable thing? (1) Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight. (2) Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. (3) We have prepared chains, shackles, and flaming fire (for the disbelievers). (4) Verily the pious shall drink of a cup whereof the admixture is like unto camphor. (5) A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. (6) They fulfill their vow and dread a Day the evil whereof shall be widespreading. (7) They feed the destitute, orphans, and captives for the love of God, saying, (8) 'We feed you only for the Face of God; we desire no recompense from you, no thankfulness; (9) Truly, we fear from our Lord a woefully grim Day." (10) Wherefore Allah shall preserve them from the evil of that Day, and shall cause them to meet brightness and joy. (11) and will reward them for all their patience in adversity with a garden [of bliss] and with [garments of] silk. (12) Reclining upon couches, they will find therein neither the heat of the sun nor bitter, biting cold, (13) near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, (14) Rounds of silver cups and silver beakers, looking like glass, will be presented upon them. (15) Glass made from silver, which the servers have filled up to the measure. (16) And they shall be made to drink therein a cup the admixture of which shall be ginger, (17) A fountain there, called Salsabil. (18) ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, (19) And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. (20) On their bodies will be garments of the finest green silk and brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give them a purest draught to drink. (21) It will be said to them, “This is your reward indeed your efforts have been appreciated.” (22)
