The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned? (1) We created man of a sperm-drop, a mingling, and We made him hearing, seeing. (2) We have indeed shown him the way whether he is grateful or ingrate. (3) Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. (4) As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- (5) which flows from a spring from which the servants of God will drink. (6) They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. (7) And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- (8) (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you. (9) we fear from our Lord a Day that shall be long and distressful.” (10) So Allah shall guard them against the woe of that Day, and will procure them freshness and joy, (11) And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. (12) therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; (13) And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. (14) and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver and goblets of crystal, (15) crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. (16) And they shall be given to drink from a cup whose mixture is ginger, (17) A fountain there, called Salsabil. (18) ۞ They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. (19) And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. (20) Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. (21) "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." (22)
