The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. (1) Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. (2) Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord). (3) Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire. (4) Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, (5) The Kafoor is a spring, from which the chosen bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to flow wherever they wish inside their palaces. (6) They fulfill their vow and dread a Day the evil whereof shall be widespreading. (7) they give food, despite their love for it, to the poor and orphans and captives, (8) (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you. (9) We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." (10) And so, God will preserve them from the woes of that Day, and will bestow on them brightness and joy, (11) And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. (12) Reclining therein on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). (13) the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. (14) And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. (15) goblets bright as crystal but made of silver, filled to exact measure. (16) And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. (17) (Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil. (18) ۞ Immortal youths shall surround them, waiting upon them; when you see them, you would think they are scattered pearls. (19) and when thou seest [anything that is] there thou wilt see [only] bliss and a realm transcendent (20) Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. (21) This is your reward. Your endeavour is fully acknowledged. (22)
