The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned? (1) Lo! We create man from a drop of thickened fluid to test him; so We make him hearing, knowing. (2) Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. (3) Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. (4) The virtuous shall drink from a cup tempered with camphor water. (5) The Kafoor is a spring, from which the chosen bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to flow wherever they wish inside their palaces. (6) They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. (7) those who, for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, (8) (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you. (9) for we fear from our Lord a stern, frownful Day' (10) So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness (11) And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. (12) therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; (13) The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. (14) And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,- (15) Also there will be crystal clear goblets of silver containing the exact measure of drink which they desire. (16) There are they watered with a cup whereof the mixture is of Zanjabil, (17) drawn from a spring (in Paradise) called Salsabil. (18) ۞ And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls. (19) wherever you look, you will see bliss and a great kingdom: (20) Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink. (21) "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." (22)
