The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. (1) Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing. (2) We showed him the right path whether he would be grateful or ungrateful. (3) We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. (4) But the righteous shall drink of a goblet mixed with camphor; (5) A fountain from which the servants of Allah shall drink; they make it to flow a (goodly) flowing forth. (6) These will be the ones who fulfil their vows and dread the Day whose woe shall be spread far and wide; (7) And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- (8) "We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. (9) “Indeed we fear from our Lord a day which is extremely bitter, most severe.” (10) Therefore Allah will guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness; (11) And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. (12) Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. (13) And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. (14) They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. (15) and gleaming silver goblets which have been filled to the exact measure, (16) And therein they shall be given to drink a cup whose mixture is ginger, (17) from a spring named salsabil. (18) ۞ They will be attended by youths who will not age -- when you see them you will think them to be like sprinkled pearls -- (19) And when thou lookest them thou shalt behold delight and a dominion magnificent. (20) They will have fine green silk and brocade, and they will be decked with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will provide them with a drink of pure wine. (21) (And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. (22)
