The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. (1) Verily We created man out of a drop of intermingled sperm so that We might try him, and We therefore endowed him with hearing and sight. (2) We surely showed him the way that he may either be grateful or deny. (3) We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. (4) Verily the pious shall drink of a cup whereof the admixture is like unto camphor. (5) a fountain whereat drink the servants of God, making it to gush forth plenteously. (6) [The truly virtuous are] they [who] fulfil their vows, and stand in awe of a Day the woe of which is bound to spread far and wide, (7) They feed the destitute, orphans, and captives for the love of God, saying, (8) We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks: (9) Truly, we fear from our Lord a woefully grim Day." (10) So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. (11) For their patience, He will reward them with Paradise and silk. (12) therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; (13) near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, (14) Goblets of silver are brought round for them, and beakers (as) of glass (15) and gleaming silver goblets which have been filled to the exact measure, (16) And they shall be made to drink therein a cup the admixture of which shall be ginger, (17) [derived from] a source [to be found] therein, whose name is "Seek Thy Way". (18) ۞ There boys of everlasting youth shall go about attending them: when you see them, you would think that they are scattered pearls. (19) Whitherto you look around, you will see an abundance of bliss and the glories of a great kingdom. (20) Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and thick silk interwoven with gold, and they shall be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall make them drink a pure drink. (21) Surely this is a reward for you, and your striving shall be recompensed. (22)
