The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. (1) We created the human being from the union of sperm and egg to test him. We gave him hearing and vision. (2) We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. (3) We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. (4) But the righteous shall drink of a goblet mixed with camphor; (5) This will be a gushing spring wherefrom Allah's servants shall drink wine, a spring from which they will take out channels wherever they wish. (6) The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. (7) those who, for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, (8) "We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. (9) “Indeed we fear from our Lord a day which is extremely bitter, most severe.” (10) Therefore, God will ward off from them the woes of that Day, and make them find brightness and joy, (11) And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. (12) Reclining in it, upon thrones; they will not see the hot sunshine in it, nor the bitter cold. (13) And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance. (14) And there shall be made to go round about them vessels of silver and goblets which are of glass, (15) (Transparent as) glass, made of silver; they have measured them according to a measure. (16) Therein they shall be served a cup flavoured with ginger, (17) [From] a fountain within Paradise named Salsabeel. (18) ۞ And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed. (19) When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. (20) Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and of brocades. And adorned they shall be with bracelets of silver: and their Lord shall give them drink a beverage pure. (21) Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. (22)
