The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? (1) We created man of a sperm-drop, a mingling, and We made him hearing, seeing. (2) Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving. (3) Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains, fetters, and a Blaze. (4) But the righteous shall drink of a goblet mixed with camphor; (5) a source [of bliss] whereof God's servants shall drink, seeing it flow in a flow abundant. (6) The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. (7) those who, for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, (8) (Saying): "We feed you for the sake of God, desiring neither recompense nor thanks. (9) “Indeed we fear from our Lord a day which is extremely bitter, most severe.” (10) But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and (blissful) Joy. (11) and their reward for being patient will be a Garden and silk [clothing]. (12) Reclining in it, upon thrones; they will not see the hot sunshine in it, nor the bitter cold. (13) The shadows will bend over them, and low will hang the clusters of grapes. (14) and passed around them shall be silver vessels, and crystal goblets, (15) goblets bright as crystal but made of silver, filled to exact measure. (16) And in that [paradise] they will be given to drink of a cup flavoured with ginger, (17) from a flowing spring called Salsabil. (18) ۞ And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed. (19) And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. (20) they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. (21) (And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted." (22)
