31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. (1) Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. (2) Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving. (3) Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. (4) Verily, the Abrar (pious, who fear Allah and avoid evil), shall drink a cup (of wine) mixed with water from a spring in Paradise called Kafur. (5) From a fountain whence the bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to gush abundantly. (6) [The truly virtuous are] they [who] fulfil their vows, and stand in awe of a Day the woe of which is bound to spread far and wide, (7) And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (8) (saying): 'We feed you only desirous of the Face of Allah; we seek of you neither recompense nor thanks, (9) We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." (10) And so, God will preserve them from the woes of that Day, and will bestow on them brightness and joy, (11) And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. (12) In that [garden] they will on couches recline, and will know therein neither [burning] sun nor cold severe, (13) The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. (14) And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal, (15) Glass made from silver, which the servers have filled up to the measure. (16) And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger (17) (Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil. (18) ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, (19) If you were to see it, you would find it to be a great kingdom with great bounty. (20) Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. (21) It will be said to them, “This is your reward indeed your efforts have been appreciated.” (22)
