The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Was there not a period of time when man was nothing worth mentioning? (1) Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. (2) We have indeed shown him the way whether he is grateful or ingrate. (3) Indeed, for the unbelievers We have prepared chains, fetters and a Blazing (Fire). (4) As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- (5) A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. (6) (Because) they perform the vow and fear a day whereof the evil is wide-spreading, (7) And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. (8) We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks: (9) We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." (10) So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness (11) and will reward them for all their patience in adversity with a garden [of bliss] and with [garments of] silk. (12) therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; (13) since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach. (14) Rounds of silver cups and silver beakers, looking like glass, will be presented upon them. (15) Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. (16) And in Paradise they will be given to drink cups, filled with a mixture of ginger. (17) therein a fountain whose name is called Salsabil. (18) ۞ They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. (19) And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion. (20) They [i.e., the virtuous] shall be attired in garments of fine green silk and rich brocade and will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them a pure wine to drink. (21) (And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. (22)
