Nay, and by the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
