The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you who are clothed! (1) arise, and warn! (2) and exalt your Lord, (3) And thine raiment purify. (4) And uncleanliness avoid (5) And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! (6) but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. (7) For when the trumpet blows (8) So that is a tough day. (9) For the infidels, not easy. (10) Leave Me with the one I created alone (11) And gave him vast wealth. (12) And sons abiding in his presence (13) To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! (14) and who still desires more. (15) By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. (16) I shall inflict on him hardship, (17) For lo! he did consider; then he planned - (18) Perish he! How maliciously he devised! (19) What an evil plan he has made! (20) Then he looked round; (21) frowned and scowled; (22) Then turned he away in pride (23) And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, (24) Nothing more than the speech of a man!" (25) I shall surely roast him in Sakar; (26) And what could make thee conceive what hell-fire is? (27) It leaves and spares no one and nothing. (28) Burning the skins! (29) Over it are appointed nineteen. (30) We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. (31)
