The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Cloaked one, 1 Arise and warn 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 and purify your clothing, 4 And all abomination shun! 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 And sons dwelling in his presence, 13 And made things easy for them. 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 Nay, verily, it is against Our messages that he knowingly, stubbornly sets himself 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 (Self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31
