The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! (1) stand up, deliver your warning, (2) And your Lord (Allah) magnify! (3) and purify your clothing, (4) And all defilement shun! (5) And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! (6) But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! (7) So when the Trumpet will be blown. (8) That, at that time, shall be a difficult day, (9) For the disbelievers - not easy. (10) Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! (11) and whom I have granted abundant wealth (12) And sons present by his side. (13) and made all things smooth for him; (14) and who still desires more. (15) Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. (16) I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! (17) He reflected, and then determined (18) But may he be cursed how he plotted; (19) What an evil plan he has made! (20) Then he looked, (21) Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; (22) then turned back, and swelling-up with pride, (23) And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; (24) This is naught else than speech of mortal man. (25) [Hence,] I shall cause him to endure hell-fire [in the life to come]! (26) What will let you know what the Scorching is like! (27) It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. (28) making [all truth] visible to mortal man. (29) over it are nineteen. (30) And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. (31)
