The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, (1) arise and warn, (2) and magnify the glory of your Lord, (3) and purify your clothing, (4) And uncleanness do shun, (5) and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. (6) and be patient unto thy Lord. (7) When the trumpet is sounded,. (8) that shall be a Harsh Day (9) For the disbelievers - not easy. (10) Leave Me with the one I created alone (11) and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, (12) and sons ever present with him, (13) and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: (14) Yet he desires that I should give more. (15) By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! (16) I shall inflict on him hardship, (17) Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. (18) May he be accursed, how he planned! (19) Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; (20) Then looked he, (21) frowned and scowled, (22) and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly (23) And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. (24) Naught is this but the word of Man. (25) Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! (26) What do you think Hell-fire is? (27) It neither leaves, nor spares. (28) It scorches people's skin (29) Above it are nineteen guards. (30) And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. (31)
