56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Cloaked one, (1) arise and give warning! (2) Proclaim the glory of your Lord; (3) And your clothing purify (4) shun uncleanness; (5) And do not favour others in order to receive more. (6) And for the good-will of thy Lord be thou patient. (7) When the trumpet is sounded,. (8) That, at that time, shall be a difficult day, (9) For the disbelievers - not easy. (10) LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, (11) To whom I granted resources in abundance, (12) and sons that stand in witness. (13) and whom I have provided with every resource, (14) and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! (15) Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). (16) We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief. (17) He reflected and then hatched a scheme. (18) May he be accursed, how he planned! (19) Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- (20) Then he thought; (21) Then he frowned and scowled; (22) Then turned he back, and grew stiff-necked. (23) And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; (24) This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" (25) I will cast him into hell. (26) And what knoweth thou that which the Scorching Fire? (27) It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; (28) It shrivelleth the man. (29) Over it are nineteen [angels]. (30) And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. (31)
