The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you enveloped in your cloak! (1) Arise and warn, (2) And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. (3) and purify your clothing, (4) stay away from sins (5) And do not confer favor to acquire more (6) And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. (7) And when the trumpet is blown, (8) that shall be a Harsh Day (9) for the unbelievers not easy. (10) LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, (11) To whom I granted resources in abundance, (12) and sons standing before him, (13) And made several preparations for him. (14) and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! (15) Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. (16) I will constrain him to a hard ascent. (17) Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. (18) May he be condemned! (19) And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! (20) and then he looks [around for new arguments,] (21) frowned and scowled, (22) Then he turned back and was proud; (23) said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. (24) It is nothing but the word of a mortal' (25) I will drive him into Saqar. (26) And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? (27) It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; (28) and it burns the flesh. (29) Over it are nineteen [angels]. (30) We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. (31)
