The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O thou enveloped! (1) Arise, and warn. (2) Thy Lord magnify, (3) and purify your clothing, (4) And stay away from idols. (5) and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. (6) For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! (7) When the Trumpet shall be sounded, (8) That shall be - that Day - a day hard. (9) not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! (10) Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- (11) And then granted him resources in abundance. (12) and children living in his presence, (13) and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), (14) yet he is eager that I increase him. (15) By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. (16) I shall soon constrain him to a hard ascent. (17) Verily, he thought and plotted; (18) Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? (19) And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! (20) He then dared to lift his gaze. (21) Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; (22) then he retreated, and waxed proud. (23) Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others); (24) Nothing more than the speech of a man!" (25) I will surely roast him in the Scorching. (26) And what can make you know what is Saqar? (27) It spares nothing; it leaves nothing intact; (28) making [all truth] visible to mortal man. (29) Over it are Nineteen. (30) We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. (31)
