The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! (1) Arise and warn, (2) proclaim the greatness of your Lord, (3) And thy garments keep free from stain! (4) shun uncleanness; (5) Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! (6) be patient unto your Lord. (7) For when the trumpet blows (8) That, at that time, shall be a difficult day, (9) For the infidels, not easy. (10) Leave Me alone with he whom I created (11) and appointed for him ample wealth (12) And sons dwelling in his presence, (13) whose life I have made run smoothly (14) and who still desires more. (15) Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; (16) I will cover him with arduous torment. (17) For he thought and he plotted -- (18) (Self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! (19) Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; (20) He looked (at others); (21) Then frowned he and showed displeasure. (22) Then he turned back and was haughty; (23) And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; (24) Nothing more than the speech of a man!" (25) I shall surely roast him in Sakar; (26) And what do you know what Hell is? (27) It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. (28) it scorches the skin; (29) Over it are nineteen [powers]. (30) We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. (31)
