In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O you who have wrapped up in your garments! 1 Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little - 2 half of it, or reduce it a little; 3 or add to it a little; and recite the Qur'an slowly and distinctly. 4 We shall soon entrust to you a message heavy (with solemnity). 5 Surely getting up at night is the best means of subduing the self and is more suitable for uprightness in speech. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 And remember thou the name of thy Lord, and devote thyself to Him with an exclusive devotion. 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West; there is no god but He. So take Him alone for your Guardian, 9 Bear patiently whatever they say, do not yield to them and keep on preaching decently to them. 10 And leave them to Me these wealthy deniers and give them some respite. 11 Indeed We have heavy fetters and a blazing fire. 12 And food that chokes and a painful punishment - 13 upon the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains become a slipping heap of sand. 14 We have indeed sent a Noble Messenger towards you, a present witness over you the way We had sent a Noble Messenger towards Firaun. 15 However, the Pharaoh disobeyed the Messenger and We seized him with a severe retribution. 16 How, then, if you refuse to acknowledge the truth, will you protect yourselves on that Day which shall turn the hair of children grey, 17 On that day, the heavens will be rent asunder. This is the decree of God which has already been ordained. 18 Verily this is a reminder. So let him who desires take the way to his Lord. 19
