Juz 29
Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O THOU enwrapped one! (1) Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little - (2) Half of it - or subtract from it a little (3) Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation. (4) Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, legal laws, etc.). (5) Indeed, the first part of night is heavier in tread, and more upright in speech. (6) Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation. (7) So remember the name of thy Lord and devote thyself with a complete devotion - (8) (He is) Lord of the East and the West: there is no god but He: take Him therefore for (thy) Disposer of Affairs. (9) And bear thou patiently what they say, and forsake them graciously. (10) Leave Me to deal with the deniers, lords of ease and comfort (in this life); and do thou respite them awhile. (11) Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire (12) And food that chokes, and a painful punishment. (13) on the Day the earth and mountains shall shake and the mountains crumble into shifting sand dunes. (14) Verily, We have sent to you (O men) a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) to be a witness over you, as We did send a Messenger [Musa (Moses)] to Fir'aun (Pharaoh). (15) But Pharoah rebelled against the messenger, so We seized him with a strong, crushing grip. (16) Then how, if ye disbelieve, will ye protect yourselves upon the day which will turn children grey, (17) The heaven shall rend asunder thereby; His promise is ever brought to fulfillment. (18) This, surely, is an admonition. So let him who will, take the right path to his Lord. (19)
