Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. (1) 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. (2) and exalted is the majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife nor a son. (3) The fool among us spoke against God outrage, (4) and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, (5) And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. (6) They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. (7) And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. (8) And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: (9) And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. (10) Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow divergent paths. (11) "'And withal, we have come to know that we can never elude God [while we live] on earth, and that we can never elude Him by escaping [from life]. (12) When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. (13) and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; (14) And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. (15) If they (the idolaters) tread the right path, We shall give them to drink of water in abundance (16) So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. (17) "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; (18) ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” (19)
