Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, (1) It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. (2) and that “He exalted be His Majesty has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; (3) 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; (4) and that [we were mistaken when] we thought that neither man nor [any of] the invisible forces would ever tell a lie about God. (5) and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; (6) They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. (7) And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. (8) And we were wont to sit on seats therein to listen; but whosoever listeneth now findeth for him a dartin meteor in wait. (9) 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. (10) 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. (11) We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. (12) ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ (13) and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; (14) And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: (15) And proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that ‘Had they remained upright on the straight path, We would have given them abundant water.’ (16) "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty. (17) And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. (18) when God's servant stood up to pray to Him, they pressed close to him in great numbers, almost stifling him. (19)
