Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, (1) which guides people to the right path and we believe in it. We shall never consider anyone equal to our Lord; (2) And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son (3) Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God. (4) And verily we! we had imagined that humankind and jinn would never forge against Allah a lie. (5) 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. (6) ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ (7) And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. (8) There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. (9) And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. (10) And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: (11) And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. (12) 'And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Quran), we believed therein (Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in punishment for his sins. (13) 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." (14) 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- (15) If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- (16) So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. (17) Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. (18) And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." (19)
