Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, (1) guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. (2) and exalted is the majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife nor a son. (3) The fool among us spoke against God outrage, (4) 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. (5) and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; (6) They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. (7) 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. (8) ‘And that we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky, to listen; so whoever now listens finds a fiery comet waiting for him.’ (9) And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. (10) and that “some of us are upright and some of us are otherwise for we follow widely divergent paths”; (11) And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. (12) ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ (13) And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; (14) And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: (15) If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- (16) That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. (17) And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. (18) "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." (19)
