Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, (1) guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. (2) our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. (3) Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God. (4) And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. (5) And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. (6) so much so that they came to think, as you [once] thought, that God would never [again] send forth anyone [as His apostle]. (7) We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- (8) There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. (9) We do not know if this means ill for the dwellers of the earth, or their Lord wishes guidance for them. (10) Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. (11) 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. (12) And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): (13) And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; (14) but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” (15) If they (non-Muslims) had believed in Allah, and went on the Right Way (i.e. Islam) We should surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance. (16) That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. (17) "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; (18) When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). (19)
