Juz 29
Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, (1) which guides people to the right path and we believe in it. We shall never consider anyone equal to our Lord; (2) And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: (3) The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. (4) And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. (5) and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; (6) and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. (7) We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames. (8) And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. (9) 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. (10) 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). (11) 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. (12) Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. (13) 'Amongst us are some that submit their wills (to Allah), and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills - they have sought out (the path) of right conduct: (14) And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. (15) (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. (16) ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ (17) and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; (18) And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass."
