Juz 29
Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. (1) 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). (2) our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. (3) And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. (4) ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ (5) And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: (6) And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: (7) ‘And we reached the sky, so we found it strongly guarded and filled with comets.’ (8) notwithstanding that we were established in positions [which we had thought well-suited] to listening to [whatever secrets might be in] it: and anyone who now [or ever] tries to listen will [likewise] find a flame lying in wait for him! (9) And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. (10) And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: (11) And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. (12) When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. (13) Some of us are obedient while others are wrongdoers; it is the obedient who have found the right path, (14) And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, (15) If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- (16) In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him." (17) All the parts of the body to be placed on the ground during prostration belong to God. (18) (It has been revealed to me that) When the slave of Allah (Muhammad SAW) stood up invoking (his Lord Allah) in prayer to Him they (the jinns) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet's recitation).
