Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say thou: it hath been revealed unto me that a company of the jinn listened, and said, verily we have listened to a Recitation wondrous. 1 that guides to the Right Path. We believe in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord. 2 and that “He exalted be His Majesty has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. 5 And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 We have realized that we could never thwart God on earth and that we would never be able to thwart Him by flight. 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 And [know] that all worship is due to God [alone]: hence, do not invoke anyone side by side with God! 18 And when the slave of Allah stood up in prayer to Him, they crowded on him, almost stifling. 19
