Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. (1) ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ (2) our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. (3) And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. (4) ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ (5) 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. (6) Like you, they thought that Allah would never raise the dead. (7) And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. (8) and that “we would take up stations in the heaven to try to hear but anyone who now attempts to listen finds a shooting meteor in wait for him”; (9) And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. (10) And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways. (11) Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. (12) When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. (13) And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: (14) but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" (15) Had they (jinn and mankind) remained steadfast in their religion (Islam), We would certainly have given them abundant water to drink (16) ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ (17) "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; (18) When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad).
