28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, (1) guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. (2) our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. (3) And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. (4) And verily we! we had imagined that humankind and jinn would never forge against Allah a lie. (5) And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: (6) Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. (7) ‘And we reached the sky, so we found it strongly guarded and filled with comets.’ (8) We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. (9) 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. (10) And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways. (11) We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. (12) and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss or being subjected to any injustice”; (13) And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. (14) but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” (15) If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, (16) ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ (17) "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; (18) ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” (19)
