Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, (1) ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ (2) 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children). (3) and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; (4) we never thought that either human or jinn would ever tell a lie against Allah!' (5) And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: (6) And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. (7) And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. (8) And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; (9) and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; (10) And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. (11) And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. (12) And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. (13) 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." (14) but those who are wrongdoers will become the fuel of Hell." (15) If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- (16) so that We might try them through this bounty. Whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to suffer a grievous chastisement; (17) And [know] that all worship is due to God [alone]: hence, do not invoke anyone side by side with God! (18) "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." (19)
