28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, (1) It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. (2) for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! (3) And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. (4) And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. (5) And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. (6) And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. (7) We sought to pry into the secrets of the heavens, but found it full of fierce guards and shooting flames. (8) we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- (9) ‘And we do not know whether harm is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends goodness for them.’ (10) And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. (11) And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. (12) And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. (13) And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. (14) but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” (15) If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, (16) ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ (17) And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. (18) And when the slave of Allah stood up in prayer to Him, they crowded on him, almost stifling. (19)
