Juz 29
Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: 'We have heard the wondrous Qur'an, (1) It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. (2) Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. (3) 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; (4) and that [we were mistaken when] we thought that neither man nor [any of] the invisible forces would ever tell a lie about God. (5) And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. (6) Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. (7) And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. (8) And we were wont to sit on seats therein to listen; but whosoever listeneth now findeth for him a dartin meteor in wait. (9) and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; (10) Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow divergent paths. (11) and that “we thought that we will neither be able to frustrate Allah on earth, nor frustrate Him by flight”; (12) When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. (13) And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; (14) but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” (15) And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, (16) So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: (17) And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. (18) When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). (19)
