Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, (1) Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: (2) He exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, who has neither taken to Himself a wife, nor a son! (3) And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. (4) And verily we! we had imagined that humankind and jinn would never forge against Allah a lie. (5) And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: (6) Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. (7) And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. (8) And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; (9) and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; (10) Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. (11) ‘And we are certain that we cannot defeat Allah in the earth, nor can we run out of His grasp.’ (12) Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. (13) Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.'" Those who have submitted have taken the right course; (14) But those who are iniquitous will be fuel for Hell. (15) (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. (16) so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. (17) and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; (18) When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). (19)
