Juz 29
Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, (1) guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. (2) And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. (3) 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; (4) we never thought that either human or jinn would ever tell a lie against Allah!' (5) But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, (6) 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment). (7) "We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames. (8) and that “we would take up stations in the heaven to try to hear but anyone who now attempts to listen finds a shooting meteor in wait for him”; (9) And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. (10) And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. (11) We realised that we could not weaken the power of God on earth, nor outpace Him by running away. (12) So when we heard the guidance we believed in it; and he who believes in his Lord will neither fear loss nor force. (13) ‘And that some among us are Muslims and some are the unjust; and whoever has accepted Islam it is they who have thought rightly.’ (14) But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.' (15) If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- (16) that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. (17) All the parts of the body to be placed on the ground during prostration belong to God. (18) When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). (19)
