Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)! (1) ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ (2) ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ (3) And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. (4) And verily we! we had imagined that humankind and jinn would never forge against Allah a lie. (5) Yet [it has always happened] that certain kinds of humans would seek refuge with certain kinds of [such] invisible forces: but these only increased their confusion (6) 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). (7) 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. (8) There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. (9) We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. (10) For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. (11) Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. (12) Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. (13) and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; (14) ‘And as for the unjust they are the fuel of hell.’” (15) And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. (16) So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. (17) And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. (18) "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd."
