Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, (1) Guiding unto rectitude; wherefore we have believed therein, and we shall by no means associate with our Lord anyone. (2) our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. (3) And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. (4) We had supposed that men and jinn would never utter a lie against God. (5) And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. (6) 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment). (7) And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. (8) There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. (9) 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. (10) And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: (11) and that “we thought that we will neither be able to frustrate Allah on earth, nor frustrate Him by flight”; (12) So when we heard the guidance we believed in it; and he who believes in his Lord will neither fear loss nor force. (13) And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. (14) ‘And as for the unjust they are the fuel of hell.’” (15) (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. (16) and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. (17) And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: (18) (It has been revealed to me that) When the slave of Allah (Muhammad SAW) stood up invoking (his Lord Allah) in prayer to Him they (the jinns) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet's recitation).
