Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, (1) “We have indeed heard a wonderful Qur'an which guides to the Right Way; so we have come to believe in it, and we will not associate aught with Our Lord in His Divinity”; (2) Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. (3) And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. (4) We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, (5) And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. (6) 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). (7) And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. (8) We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. (9) 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. (10) Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. (11) And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight. (12) Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. (13) And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. (14) However, the deviators from the Truth will be the fuel for hell". (15) If they (the idolaters) tread the right path, We shall give them to drink of water in abundance (16) and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. (17) and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; (18) when God's servant stood up to pray to Him, they pressed close to him in great numbers, almost stifling him. (19)
