Juz 29
Noah (Noah)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Bee (Al-nahl) before Abraham (Ibrahim)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". (1) He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” (2) that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. Pay heed to me. (3) so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" (4) He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day (5) And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. (6) And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. (7) And lo! I have called unto them aloud, (8) and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret: (9) "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. (10) He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance (11) and will succour you with wealth and sons, and will appoint for you gardens, and will appoint for you rivers. (12) What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah (13) ‘Whereas it is He Who created you in different stages?’ (14) "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, (15) setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? (16) Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, (17) and He will later cause you to return to it and will then again bring you out of it. (18) Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you (19) That you may go along therein in wide paths. (20)
