Juz 29
Noah (Noah)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Bee (Al-nahl) before Abraham (Ibrahim)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." (1) He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: (2) That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: (3) “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” (4) He said: my Lord! Verily I have called my people night and day. (5) but my calling has only increased them in flight. (6) Every time I have called to them, so that You might forgive them, they have only thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. (7) Then I invited them publicly. (8) and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret: (9) And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. (10) He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: (11) increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. (12) What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity (13) seeing that He has created [every one of] you in successive stages? (14) "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, (15) and has set up within them the moon as a light [reflected] and set up the sun as a [radiant] lamp? (16) ‘And it is Allah Who made you grow like vegetation from the earth.’ (17) and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. (18) "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, (19) so that you might walk thereon on spacious paths.'" (20)
