Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! (1) What is the concrete reality? (2) And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? (3) Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! (4) Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), (5) And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind (6) Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! (7) Now dost thou see any remnant of them? (8) And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. (9) They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. (10) Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship (11) so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. (12) When a single blow is blown on the Horn, (13) And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. (14) On that day shall the great event come to pass, (15) And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. (17) On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. (18) Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! (19) I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". (20) So he shall be in a pleasing life (21) In a lofty garden, (22) The fruits of which are near at hand: (23) [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" (24) But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, (25) and knew nothing of my reckoning. (26) Would it had been the end! (27) My wealth has not availed me. (28) “All my power has vanished.” (29) "Seize him and manacle him, (30) and then let him enter Hell. (31) Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." (32) Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. (34) So no friend has he here this Day, (35) and the only food he has is filth (36) which only the sinners eat". (37)
