Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! (1) What is the Sure Reality? (2) And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? (3) (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. (4) But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! (5) And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, (6) which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. (7) Do you see any trace of them? (8) Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. (9) They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord so He seized them with an intense seizure. (10) Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, (11) that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. (12) With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, (13) And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - (14) On that day shall the great event come to pass, (15) And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, (16) and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. (17) On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. (18) On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! (19) I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". (20) He is therefore in the desired serenity. (21) In a lofty Paradise, (22) with its fruits within easy reach. (23) Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! (24) But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book (25) And I had not known what my account was: (26) I wish death had put an end to me. (27) Of no use was even my wealth. (28) I am bereft of power." (29) "Seize him and manacle him, (30) "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. (31) "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! (32) He did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), (34) “So he does not have any friend here this day.” (35) "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, (36) that none but sinners eat' (37)
