Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). (1) How tremendous is the true event! (2) And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? (3) The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: (4) So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. (5) The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale (6) which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: (7) Do you see any vestige left of them now? (8) And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. (9) And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. (10) When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, (11) that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. (12) When a single blow is blown on the Horn, (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. (14) Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, (15) And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, (16) And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! (19) "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" (20) And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, (21) In a lofty garden, (22) The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. (23) Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. (24) And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” (25) "And that I had never known, how my Account is? (26) Oh, would that it had been the ending! (27) My wealth has not helped me a thing (28) and my authority has vanished.” (29) 'Take him, and fetter him, (30) Then cast him into the burning fire, (31) “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” (32) Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, (33) nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. (34) therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, (35) “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” (36) which none but the sinners eat!" (37)
