Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). (1) And what is that indubitable event? (2) And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? (3) THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! (4) But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! (5) And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; (6) that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. (7) and dost thou now see any remnant of them? (8) And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. (9) They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. (10) Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. (11) as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. (12) Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), (13) And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. (14) On that day, the inevitable event will take place (15) and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, (16) And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. (17) That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. (18) Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! (19) I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". (20) So he shall have an agreeable life (21) in an exalted garden (22) its clusters nigh to gather. (23) (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." (24) And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: (25) And knew not what my reckoning! (26) I wish my death had been the decisive one. (27) My wealth has not availed me, (28) Vanished has my power from me." (29) It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” (30) and then roast him in Hell, (31) Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. (32) for he did not believe in Almighty God, (33) “And did not urge to feed the needy.” (34) Therefor hath he no lover here this day, (35) and no food except pus (36) “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” (37)
