Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - (1) How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! (2) And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? (3) The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! (4) As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. (5) And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind (6) Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! (7) Do you see any vestige left of them now? (8) And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin (9) They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. (10) Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. (11) so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. (12) When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. (14) And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; (15) when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, (16) And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. (17) On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. (18) On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! (19) Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. (20) So he shall be in a life of pleasure, (21) In a lofty Garden (22) Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. (23) 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' (24) Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. (25) Nor that I knew my reckoning! (26) Would it had been the end! (27) Of no use was even my wealth. (28) Vanished has my power from me." (29) (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, (30) Then throw him in the blazing Fire. (31) “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” (32) for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, (33) Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. (34) "So no friend hath he here this Day. (35) nor any food save the filth (36) “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” (37)
