Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. (1) What is the Inevitable Reality? (2) And what will make you know what the Reality is? (3) Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. (4) But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! (5) as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind (6) To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. (7) So do you see any survivor among them? (8) And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. (9) They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord so He seized them with an intense seizure. (10) Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. (11) so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. (12) When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, (13) And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, (14) Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, (15) And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. (16) The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. (17) You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. (18) Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! (19) I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". (20) He is therefore in the desired serenity. (21) In high empyrean (22) with clusters of fruit within easy reach. (23) (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” (24) But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book (25) and had not known my account. (26) I wish death had put an end to me. (27) My wealth has not availed me, (28) “All my power has vanished.” (29) (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, (30) And then expose him to hell-fire (31) then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. (32) He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; (33) "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! (34) and so, no friend has here today, (35) neither any food saving foul pus, (36) Which none but the wrongdoers eat. (37)
